Ms. Jacqueline So

 

Co-founder and Chief Executive
of Malvern College International (Asia Pacific)

Ms. Jacqueline So established a partnership with Malvern College UK in 2011 and has since co-founded Malvern College Qingdao in 2012, Malvern College Chengdu in 2015, Malvern College pre-schools Hong Kong in 2017 and 2019, as well as Malvern College Hong Kong in 2018, collectively over 2,500 pupils from preschool to senior high school age.

She served as the Executive Principal of Malvern College Qingdao, overseeing all aspects of the school’s operations and managing its public relations and communication. Ms So set up a similar school, Malvern College Chengdu, in 2015, deliver internationalised education to Western China. Both graduates from Malvern College have gained admission to prestigious global institutions, including Cambridge, MIT, Imperial College, UCLA, and King’s College London.

Malvern College Pre-Schools Hong Kong have a strong focus on educationally harnessed play-based learning and pioneered forest-beach school in Hong Kong to promote love of nature and independence for the young pupils.

Ms. So led the team to enter a competitive school allocation exercise in 2014 to win the school site next to Science Park for Malvern College Hong Kong, enabling the introduction of British style International Baccalaureate school in Hong Kong. The state-of-art campus has won numerous accolades including the Quality Building Award in 2020.

Prior to her current role, Ms. So was the Vice President of Strategy and Development of Laureate Education. She was also a Senior Consultant at McKinsey & Company both in Greater China and the US. Ms. So received a BBA in Accounting from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Keith Metcalfe

Headmaster, Malvern College UK
MA

Mr. Keith Metcalfe is the Headmaster of Malvern College UK. He comes to Malvern College from Harrow School where he served as Deputy Head Master, overseeing the day-to-day running of the school, drawing on the various roles he has held during his career including housemaster, departmental head, school inspector with the ISI and coach of various sports, as well as from his experience of running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme. Mr. Metcalfe is happiest working as part of a team and his aim is to lead Malvern College forward in a spirit of community and collaboration. A passionate advocate of the opportunities offered by schools with a strong boarding ethos, he sees Malvern College as a school that affords the time and space in which to nurture the whole person, and where pastoral care is at the centre of all that it does. It is within this environment that young people will achieve their best, both in and out of the classroom. Mr Metcalfe was educated at Monmouth School and Downing College, Cambridge, where he read Geography.

Dr Robin Lister

Regional Executive Director
Malvern College International (Asia Pacific)

After attending Hymers’ College in Yorkshire Robin Lister studied for a BA in Theology and a post-graduate teaching qualification at Hull University. He was then awarded scholarships to attend Harvard University where he read for a Master’s degree after which he became the Gifford Fellow at St Andrews University where he took his Ph.D and undertook some part-time lecturing. In between degrees he worked for the Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis in Cambridge Massachusetts where he remained as a consultant for some years. 


He arrived at Malvern College in 1989 as the Head of Religious Studies and was then appointed Housemaster of Roslin House in 1998, Deputy Head in 2007 and Senior Deputy Head in 2012 In 2018, he became the Founding Headmaster of Malvern College Hong Kong. In September 2023, he left Malvern College Hong Kong and became the Regional Executive Director of Malvern College International (Asia Pacific).


In what little spare time he has, Robin has a passion for the Highlands of Scotland where he tries to spend a few weeks each year, walking and cycling.  He is a great admirer of J. S. Bach, enjoys modern art and architecture and has a particularly keen interest in international relations.

Mr. Allan Walker

Director of International School, Malvern College UK

MA, ARCO

Mr. Allan Walker is the Commercial Director of Malvern College UK and Director of Malvern College International Schools. Mr. Walker is responsible for the general commercial development of Malvern College, and in particular for overseeing the planning and development of Malvern College’s overseas campuses. Prior to joining Malvern in 2009, Mr. Walker worked in various commercial positions at Harrow School (UK), and was latterly the Business Manager of Harrow School Enterprises Limited, the school’s commercial trading arm. Mr Walker holds a Master of Arts degree in Music from the University of Cambridge and is an alumnus of Harrow School.

Mr. Samuel Wu

Mr. Samuel Wu is a Co-founding Executive Director of Malvern College Hong Kong, board member of Malvern College Chengdu, the Executive Director of Tridel Capital Group Limited, a family investment fund, and the Executive Director of Majestic Elite Property Development Limited, a property developer based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, Mr. Wu worked in Wing Lung Bank and Citigroup Corporate & Investment Bank where he was involved in mergers & acquisitions, retail & corporate banking and operations. Mr. Wu holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and East Asian Studies from New York University, and an Executive MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and HKUST. He is the Vice President of ESF Island School Alumni Association and a Director of Shun Tak Fraternal Association, a school sponsoring body that operates local kindergartens to secondary schools throughout Hong Kong.

Mr. Baniel Cheung

Mr. Baniel Cheung is a serial entrepreneur and is the Founder and Principal Strategist of Integral Consulting Asia Limited. Being appreciated as one of the top strategists in business and digital transformation, he has been providing management consultancy, strategic planning, brand building, executive training, and marketing research services to international and local customers. Mr. Cheung has been the Partner and Representative of Hong Kong Office of Ginza West previously, responsible for the expansion of the reputable retail brand of Ginza West Japan into Hong Kong market. Besides, he is the Chairman of MSK Snooker Academy, Chief Strategy Officer of Mapxus Technology, Partner of Snapask Japan, and Partner of Spaceship supporting their business development in Hong Kong, Japan, and Asia market.

 

Mr. Cheung currently carries the role of Advisor for Pasona Group Japan and has been previously being the Principal Consultant for Business Development Center Tokyo (Hong Kong Office) of Tokyo Metropolitan Government. He also belongs to the Technical Advisory Committee of Hong Kong Brand Development Council, Hong Kong Brand List Steering Committee of Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, and Academic Liaison Committee of the CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) Council of US.

 

With more than 30 years’ experience in business, Mr. Cheung has been holding different management positions in global and Hong Kong listed technology companies, including HongKong Telecom CSL, Wharf T&T, New World Telecom and New Digital System. He has successfully assisted these reputable companies to build brands and expand business coverage in Asia Pacific region including Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Mr. Cheung holds a Master Degree in Marketing Management from the University of Macquarie, and an Honour Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sydney. He has been the President of Sydney University Alumni Association in Hong Kong between 2010-2011.

 

Mr. Cheung has received the “2013-2014 Outstanding Teacher Award” from the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Hong Kong. He has also received the “Outstanding Teacher Award” from HKU SPACE in 2006.

Mr. Daisuke Iwase

Mr. Daisuke Iwase is the CEO of Animoca Brands KK, a strategic subsidiary in Japan of Animoca Brands Corporation Limited, a leading global Web3 company based in Hong Kong. Daisuke is also the founder of KLKTN Limited (Head office: HK), one of the companies in Animoca Brands’ portfolio and Managing Partner of Spiral Capital (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo). Prior to that, he was group chief digital officer for AIA Group and served on its Group Executive Committee. Before AIA, he co-founded and served as representative director and president of Lifenet Insurance Company, a publicly listed digital life insurance company in Japan. Mr. Iwase graduated as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School and was named as Young Global Leaders 2010 by the World Economic Forum. He passed Japan’s national bar exam prior to graduating from the University of Tokyo but pursues career in business starting at Boston Consulting Group, Ripplewood Japan.

Ms. Kazuko Nakada

CEO of actuali inc.

Ms. Kazuko Nakada established actuali inc. in 2020 to provides consultancy services in marketing and communications for startup companies and financial institutions. She serves as an independent outside director of several companies, and is a member of the 8th Consumer Commission, Cabinet Office.

She joined Lifenet Insurance in 2008 and served as the Managing Director and Chief Communications Officer until 2017. She worked for the GABA Corporation as a Managing Executive Director in 2005.

Prior to that, Ms. Nakada was involved in the launch of the brand in the Japanese market and its expansion and penetration on a nationwide scale as head of the marketing and communications as an executive officer in Starbucks Coffee Japan Ltd.

She worked at Dentsu Young & Rubicam Inc. after graduating from Sophia University. She is the Author of "Create a Brand Loved by 100,000 People! Published by Toyo Keizai Shinposha in 2012.
