At Malvern College Tokyo, we understand that academic excellence is important, but we believe that a child's education should encompass much more. That's why we place a strong emphasis on wellbeing and the development of life skills, such as goal-setting, emotion management, empathy, and problem-solving.

Our academic team are deeply passionate about and thoroughly trained to assess and monitor pupils’ wellbeing, identifying problems early on and providing excellent support. We believe that a child's well-being and happiness is a joint effort between school and their parents, and we are committed to working in partnership with you to achieve this goal. We are excited to announce our "Learning for Life - Growing Minds, Nurturing Hearts: A School & Home Partnership for Wellbeing" workshops, which will take place on Saturday 7th December 2024. This workshop has been designed to help give prospective parents and pupils an insight into how we develop important skills that work in tandem with our excellent academic programmes, helping children become effective, productive, happy adults.

During the workshop, prospective parents will have the opportunity to learn more about our broader Malvern curriculum, how this encompasses these concepts and ideas, and how they support learning.

Whilst this is going on, children will take part in an enriching and engaging workshop led by our experienced teachers. These workshops are divided into sessions according to age groups, which are 5-7, 8-10, and 11-15.

The parent event and pupil workshop will begin at 10.30am, and conclude by 12 noon. The event will take place on our beautiful campus, and seats are limited, so be sure to sign up early.

'Language Learning at Malvern' with Malvern College Tokyo

Discover the Power of Language at Malvern College Tokyo

At Malvern College Tokyo, we recognise the transformative power of language. As a school, we are deeply committed to fostering confident, articulate, and fluent speakers of English and Japanese, enabling our pupils to thrive in a globalised world.

Language learning is central to our educational philosophy, as we believe it is the key to unlocking excellence and preparing pupils for the future. Our pupils are not only immersed in English, the medium of instruction at Malvern College Tokyo, but also gain a strong command of Japanese—the language of our host country and an essential part of the cultural fabric that connects our community.

On 18th January 2025, we are offering an exciting opportunity to explore the pivotal role language learning plays at our school. As part of our experience programme, we will be hosting a special event where children will engage in dynamic, interactive language workshops designed to inspire and deepen their linguistic skills. Whether learning English or Japanese, each session will be carefully crafted to nurture fluency, confidence, and a love of language.

Our talented, experienced educators will guide pupils through age-appropriate activities, fostering an environment where language becomes a tool for creativity, communication, and critical thinking. These workshops embody our commitment to ensuring each pupil achieves excellence, not only in language skills but in all areas of learning, preparing them to become well-rounded, global citizens.

While the children explore the power of language, parents will have the opportunity to meet with our Senior Leadership Team to learn more about the school’s approach to language learning and how it forms part of our broader commitment to academic excellence. This is a chance to discover how we integrate both English and Japanese into our curriculum, allowing every pupil to reach their full potential and develop the skills needed to succeed in the world beyond school.
